I have been experiencing strange errors with performing library scans.

This is the error message for one of the movies.

2016-05-27 12:55:42.8114 Debug ProviderManager: Saving \\WORK\Movies2\Grand Budapest Hotel, The (2014)\Trailers\Trailer.flv to Emby Xml.

I have three external drives that contain movies for my media library "Movies"

This error comes up for 322 trailers on only one of my three drives that has 559 movies on it with 537 trailers.

The trailers play just fine in Theater.

The main thing that I noticed is that on the drive with the errors There is an .xml file generated in the Trailers Directory.  The XLM file points to one of two different  items in IMdb's database. In the error example it is tt0272899

I have no clue of what is causing this issue or why it is only occurring on one of my drives. All movies have the same format and have the same permissions

Help please: Johnny M

Those errors are just an inability to locate those movies on tmdb using the provided IMDb IDs (which appear to be incorrect for those items).

That's what I thought also but the IMdb ID are in the database correct. The IMdb ID used in the scan "tt0272899" does not show up in Emby's database. But it shows up for a very high percent of the movies during the scan and the title of that movie is "Trailer" a short film out of Sweden if I remember correctly.

Why is it even looking at trailers? I guess that is the part I do not understand and it is only on some movies on one drive.

Sounds like you've pointed a library classified as "Movies" at some folders named "Trailer" and it is trying to find that movie...

I guess anything is possible. Since it only affects movies on one drive I think I will rebuild it and see what happens.

I decided to rebuild my whole library. When I got to the Movies Library (on three drives) I start with the one with the errors. I first did a check disk just cause and it found no errors. Then I add a portion that I knew had the "trailer errors" in it, scanned the libraries and it threw no errors. I added the rest of media. Performed a scan and again no errors. The post add scan went from about 4 minutes with the trailer errors to 15 seconds with no errors.

I have no idea what changed but problem solved

Thanks

There is a setting somewhere where you can disable downloading trailers for movies, I can't remember where exactly

I do not download trailer. I rip them from the internet myself and manually load them into a Trailers folder under the movie.
