When I back out of a movie my resume point disappears and I have to start over from the beginning. Happens at random. For example I was watching tron legacy and it just did it.

How is the item playing back (transcoding or direct? which player?).

What version of the app?

version 1.1.90g. Direct. Which ever player the android tv app uses. It'll show the resume option until I back out then it disappears.

Not sure.  I cannot reproduce.

Are you sure that you aren't playing it beyond the resume parameters that are configured on the server?  Where, exactly, in the movie were you when you backed out?

Sometimes an hour in. I'm was using the default parameters. I just uninstalled and reinstalled emby server so maybe that'll fix. If samething happens I'll post more logs.

I think this may be an android tv app issue. I just tried from the web interface and it resumed normally. almost every time in the android tv app its not resuming.

Haven't seen anyone else report this issue so we'll need some more specific information.

If you can reproduce it, use the app to send a log right after and tell me when you did that, what you played and who the Emby user was.  Thx.

Just went back into emby after about 3 hours and now movie is gone from resume. It was Dark Shadows and the emby user was Home. Just sent log.

Okay, now that sounds like something completely different than what you were describing before - which was immediately after stopping playback in the middle.

The app log won't tell me much in the instance you describe here.  What that sounds like is something is modifying your play states externally.  Do you try to sync them with Kodi or use the option to sync them to the nfo file and then have some other metadata manager in play other than Emby?

I only sent that yesterday cause I didnt go back into emby for around 3 hours and when trying immediately after playback I couldnt recreate the issue. I will try to get a better example for you. I will be out of town for a week but as soon as I get back I wil try again. I am only using emby on android tv nothing else.

Okay so it happened again this am. I was watching the mummy. About 7 min into the movie it just went out of playing back to the poster screen and showed resume. Once I backed out one further the resume disappeared. I sent in log. Same user as before.

Do you mean playback stopped on its own?

Okay, that's something you hadn't said before either.

Looking at that log, it appears there was an error of some sort with the content and VLC thought it was finished and fired its complete event.   Which then told us the item was finished.

So that's why that particular scenario had no resume.

The bottom line, it was some sort of either transmission or content error.

I do not if this helps....  After the AFTV update changing the audio settings altered the ability to resume. Still testing this and hope to update further.

Yeah I know cause it hadn't stopped on its own before. I think I have narrowed the issue down to a specific library (movies). When the kids watch there movies it resumes just fine.
