Search no longer function after update

Checked the first couple of pages of the forum and didn't see anything else in this regard.

Using my browser (Firefox), I can't use search anymore.  I click the search icon and type something in and it doesn't do anything.  Coincidentally, if I hit Enter after I type something in like I always have before, the search bar will immediately close and do nothing.  Please look at the hitting Enter thing as well because that's annoying.   At least to me, it is.  Hitting enter is just something you do (everyday) when you type in a search bar.  So much so that I don't even think about it when I do it. 

Edit:  Oh and I tried restarting but didn't help.

Hitting Enter after typing in search has always been an annoying issue.  But I didn't have an issue searching in any browser in v3.0.5971.0.

Hitting Enter after typing in search has always been an annoying issue.  But I didn't have an issue searching in any browser in v3.0.5971.0.

I guess I prefer it out of habit of doing that everyday.  I hit enter every time I use a search box online, use the address bar in my browser, or any other empty field when it's the only field present.
