Correcting duplicate entries

Hi all, got a bit of a situation and I can't work out how to correct it.

I'm currently uploading music to my server, and trying my hardest to make sure the mp3 tags are correct etc.

But under Artists I'm getting duplicate entries.

EG. I had Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I went into edit and change The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Red Hot Chili Peppers expecting for the change to "merge" the 2 together.

But now I just have 2 Red Hot Chili Peppers entries instead, one with the path:

D:\Music\Red Hot Chili Peppers

and the other with the path:

C:\Users\<myUser>\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Service\metadata\artists\The Red Hot Chili Peppers

How can I correct this please? I can't edit the path. If I look on the server there is no The Red Hot Chili Peppers directory in the ..\metadata\artists\ directory.

Would appreciate some advice please.

Thanks.

It's being improved for the next server release. in the meantime i would suggest making the changes in your music tags as well.

Hi Luke. I'm still having an issue even after the update (I'm on version 3.0.6000.0). I have some entries pointing to my AppData folder that I am unable to remove. Example:

I have removed Bring Me The Horizon from my music folder which Emby looks at (\\192.168.1.20\My Music$\Bring Me The Horizon), but I still have an entry for Bring Me The Horizon pointing to my AppData folder (C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata\artists\Bring Me the Horizon) that is unable to play any music. I am unable to remove the entries pointing to the AppData folder and it's causing issues with metadata! Please can you help?

Let's forget about folders for a second. What is the issue you're having inside an Emby app?

I'm having issues syncing the artist metadata on the Emby Kodi plugin (no genre information or bio) for all the entries pointing to the AppData folder rather than my music folder like the rest of my collection. I am unable to remove these entries even when the music files don't exist in my library.

It is only doing this for select artists. It looks to be different spelling on my metatags was the original issue (example "Bring Me the Horizon" & "Bring Me The Horizon). I have since corrected the metadata for my mp3 files using Mp3tag.

Ah. I've just removed and re-added the music artists in question again and they are pointing at my music library now. Looks like the issue has fixed itself.
