SATV crashing with NextPVR recordings

I have recently setup NextPVR but when I try to watch a recording it immediately causes the Shield TV to go to a grey screen from which it cannot be recovered without a re-boot. Live TV channels, which are transcoded, work fine but the .ts recordings (no transcoding) will not play. I had a previous issue with the Shield TV and a movie .ts files which I overcame by converting it to .mkv but that is impractical with recordings.

 

The files play perfectly on my Nexus 6 phone using EA.

Been doing some more testing. The SATV crashes unless I set the download limit to less than 10Mbps max streaming but then the frames freeze every few seconds no matter how low I set it. It does cause a major crash though, only recoverable by a re-boot. All other files, no matter how high the bit rate, play perfectly including Live TV. It seems to be confined to any .ts file. VLC player handles them in EA but ET with madVR enabled also has difficulty with juddering video and sound out of sync. Only setting in ET that works is EVR+ and 'Auto'.

 

Looks like NextPVR is a non starter. Does anyone know what format DVBlink uses for recordings? Hopefully Microsoft will fix the WMC EPG!
