Support for multi disk movies

Does Emby not recognize multi disk movies that have different movie parts in different directories?

Example:

Movie Name/

 CD1/movie.name.cd1.avi
 CD2/movie.name.cd2.avi

XBMC/Kodi supports movies that have different parts in different dirs (CD1, CD2, etc.) But my Emby library is full with "movies" named CD1 and CD2.

We do for folder rips of dvd/bluray. i don't think we've implemented that yet for video files.

Any chance that might be implemented in the near future?

It would greatly help with moving from a xbmc/kodi library to a emby library

Please add support for multi disk movies that have seperate parts in seperate sub directories.

Example:

Movie Name/

 CD1/movie.name.cd1.avi
 CD2/movie.name.cd2.avi

I've already another thread where I discussed this few months back, but this thread is intented as a official feature request.

Why not keep the parts in the same folder or mux them into one file?

I would rather not edit my video files. I have had them for years and I prefer to keep them in their original condition.

Also, my library is huge and structured from xbmc(kodi), so changing the folder structure is a lot of work.

The Emby library is pretty compatible with how the xbmc library works, except for this feature. So I would say it's the last piece of the puzzle for users moving their library from xbmc/kodi to emby :)

Spaceboy

You can join in mkvtoolnix without any loss of quality, it simply joins the original files and places in an mkv container. I've been in your position and I would just recommend you take the hit and join the files manually. It will always give you a better result.

Any chance this might get implemented some day?

Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard of a task since it's done with dvd/bluray already

It should, yes, but we are allocating our time towards what most people want and that is why this keeps getting pushed down the list.
