mjktg99 34
Have you tried lowering the quality when streaming from outside your LAN? Your ISP Upload bandwidth comes into play here. Typically your upload is much lower then your download. Like 5 mbps vs 50 mbps. So if you are trying to stream at 30 mbps, it could just be your upload cant handle it. Where as while on your lan, you can have 1GB to stream.
ebr 14902
More than likely what is happening is that it is attempting to direct stream it from the tuner but, since you are off network, the tuner can't be reached. We need to figure out how to discover that we are on a different network and not attempt a direct stream. Lowering the requested bitrate may accidentally fix this though because, if you get it below the real bitrate, that would force a transcode. tstk2013 0
I use hdhomerun prime device for TV channels and I set internet streaming at 3 Mbps. Is it too low for internet streaming? Thanks.
mjktg99 34
3mbps is forcing a transcode I would assume. Maybe your server can't handle the transcoding?
tstk2013 0
My server is just a regular server without adding a good video card. The server is running Windows server 2012 R2 and using build-in video card from the motherboard. Beside the Emby server software, there is no other add on software for the server and Emby server. Am I missing something? Thanks for your advise.
