If NAS is shutdown libraries are removed

Hey,

I have Kodibuntu (Ubuntu 14.04) with Kodi 15.2 installed on my Mac Mini. Emby Server is up and running. All my movies and TV-series are located on a Synology NAS. This NAS is only running when needed, because I use Kodi to watch Live-TV as well.

Now my problem is: Kodibuntu and Emby Server are running, but my NAS is asleep. After a while all my scanned movies and series are removed from my Emby libraries and my Kodi database. If I want to start and watch a movie I have to rescan my libraries, which is annoying.

Is there a fix to keep my scanned files in an Emby-database, even if my NAS is shutdown?

Thanks for your help

You can disable the periodic library scan in scheduled tasks menu after doing a successful Library scan. This will prevent the library to be automatically scanned while your NAS is off and the assets will not be removed. Downside: you will need to manually trigger a library scan every time you add new assets to your NAS so they can be added to the library.

Maybe someone else can provide a better answer but this should work for sure.

it should retain them but mark them as offline, but perhaps that needs to be retested.

I just rescanned my libraries while my NAS was shutdown. Everything has been removed from my libraries. So they are not marked as offline for me. Do you need any .log-files?

I will turn off scheduled library scans and use this as temporary solution.

@Luke: ill this apply to "local" libraries aswell? Keep in mind that in the case of Emby running on Linux all libraries are local even when the real resource may be on the network (SMB or NFS share) since it is locally mounted in the OS and treated as a local resource.
