No Tuners and no Live TV status, but streaming works!

Dear community.

 

I am an emby noob and comming from Mediaportal 

I have switched my clients to kodi and using Live TV from the Mediaportal TV Server 1.12, which works great.

My movie and series databases are now  managed by Emby which works also great with the Emby for Kodi plugin.

My old setup with MPExtended 0.5.0.4 and aMPDroid has worked for LiveTV and Recodings.

 

Yesterday i have tried to install and setup  "Media Portal TV Plugin 1.3.2.653" from plugin repository to get LiveTV up and running in Emby.

So i'll upgraded my MPExtended to version "MPExtended-Service-0.6.0.3-Emby" from here: https://github.com/puenktchen/MediaPortalTVPlugin/releases/tag/latest

 

Also i have clicked all three troubleshooting links in the MPExtended config dialog.

All there links puts out correct data:

Now the good thing: Channels, EPG, recordings was correctly imported to Emby and streaming works on the webclient and on android!

And the bad thing:

Emby shows me the following under Server Configuration -> LIve V

 

Status: Unavailable (Unable to establish a connection with MediaPortal API - check your settings)

 

Everytime i reload the Live TV page in my browser the following exception is visiable in the log:

Things i have tried:

• use IP address instead of localhost -> issue is not gone
• use computer name instead of localhost -> issue is not gone
• uninstalled and reinstalled "Media Portal TV Plugin 1.3.2.653" -> issue is not gone
• shut down emby server, clear plugin config file and reconfigure plugin from scratch -> issue is not gone

 

Any hint whats wrong and what ill can do to get the correct status in the Live TV section of Server Config Webpage?

Okay i see the "direct related" problem but need to know how you've done this. Maybe i also need to fix some other aspects that lead to your problem.

 

You have startet timeshifting on channel ATV HD (subchannel 0) with your DVB-C tuner 2.

Two minutes later you have started a second timeshifting on the same channel with the same tuner but subchannel 1.

The first stream is still active!

 

Can you explain me in more detail please, the steps you've done that led to this situation?!

thx for analyzing my issue.

Now its clear to me.

Look here at my tvserver manual control page:

 

 

Two ATV HD streams are running -> no emby client is currently active.

When ill remeber right after installing the plugin the Live TV page has showed all 4 tuners.

Then ill tested live tv over the emby webclient/interface.

Ill think i have done the following:

 

• Home - LiveTV - Channels - ATV HD -> no picture
• Press X or play/pause (i dont remember)
• that i did two or three times -> no picture
• after that i have changed the setting Plugins -> Media Portal TV Plugin -> Streaming options -> Mediainfo delay -> 2000ms
• after that the streams worked and i was happy
• A few hours later i have seen the descibed error message above

I have searched the content of my log files with ultraedit and didnt find "ATV HD" or "mpextended-TV-455.." user in there.

Yesterday one log file has grown up to 133MB so i decided to delete it and start one from scratch to analyze better whats going on 

Sorry my fault   ill think we have no log what really happend.

 

Should ill leave the two streams running to test an new version regarding the LIveTV tuners not showing issue?

Or could ill stop them and try to reproduce the issue?

Yes stop the streams and try to reproduce the issue. Also don't be so fast with closing the webplayer. The transcoding of Emby needs some time to kick in. When you close ore stop the player right at this time, Embys ffmpeg process hangs and your tuners will never get released.

Also when you are only using the webplayer Emby will always transcode the live tv streams. For this situation i suggest you to set mediainfo delay to 1 and force transcoding to true. It should be a little bit faster.

Okay, then neighter Force Directplay nor Force Transcoding! With Mediainfo Delay you have to play a bit to get direct play working for Android. I also have a Digital Devices DVB-C tuner and have set the delay to 1750 because of some encrypted channels. But it probably also depends on the Alphacrypt CAM i use. For free tv only i could set the delay to 800.

thx, have now checked that force direct play and force transcoding is disbaled.
Must play around with the delay because i also have scrambled dvb-c channels here.
