For instance, you could VPN into the server to appears as if you are on the same network. I believe Luke is looking at trying to find a different solution, but I don't know any timeline on that. ebr 14904 Posted November 18, 2015 Share Posted November 18, 2015 The device needs to be attached to the same network as the server (via wifi and not cellular). I have emby installed on a remote ubuntu server, i signed up for premiere through the iphone app which worked fine - but when i set the server up on additional devices it asks me to connect to the server lan. I have tried connecting via VPN but this doesn't work either. I'd really rather not have to buy the app for all of the devices that will be connecting - as my wife uses a different apple ID purchasing the app on one device will not share it will all devices 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I personally am hoping this gets rectified soon and in a manner that makes sense. I am ready to spring for a lifetime subscription but don't want myself or my fam to have to pay for the Android client on each device we use. The emby server that I have set up (currently running Plex) sits in a colocation facility because I'm constantly on the go and where we life, the ISP limits us quite a bit. :-( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
