BobbyDing 56
Hello. Just installed EMBY last week. So I am a newb. I have 5 HDHR tuners. 4 Connects and 1 Prime. When I request to see the guide data, it shows me WAY too many channels. I went into the tuner setup(s) and favorited/blocked the channels on each tuner via the HDHR web based setup and restarted EMBY, but all the channels still show in the EMBY guide data. When I select each tuner, the empty check box is there to "show only favorite channels", but I cannot put a check check that box. Also, I deleted the Prime tuner from the EMBY list of tuners, but it came back. Any way to remove the channels and/or tuners? Thanks!! jasonmcroy 315
What browser are you using to access your Server to make those changes? I have had trouble with a few and only Chrome consistently works correctly when I am trying to make changes. I have an HDHR Prime and Extend and I am not having any issues with the channels. On the Tuner page if you click the little star to the left of the channel twice you will see a little red icon that is supposed to block that channel. Doing that stopped the channels from showing up in my guide. Did you refresh the Guide itself in Emby after your changes? To not allow a tuner to show up there should be a check box if you click the tuner itself on the Server set up page to "Enable This Tuner". Again though, it may be a browser problem if you're not able to check that box. You could try that and see if it helps.
mellomade 140
First - as jasonmcroy states - refresh your guide from scheduled tasks. If that still does not work - go to %appdata%\Emby-Server\data\livetv and delete the entire 'epg' folder and then refresh your guide again. BobbyDing 56
Well, it was working....Now I'm having another issue.... There was one channel I wanted out of the guide. I removed it in the tuner (red circle with line through it). Then removed the Schedules Direct Lineup. Shut down the Emby Server. Deleted all the existing json files from the epg folder. Restarted Emby.Refreshed CHANNELS (not sure if this meant tuner channels or not). Then re entered my Schedules direct info, with zip code. After which Emby began regrabbing the json info. But when I went back to the guide, I was missing the guide data for 4 different channels that were populated previously. The channels are listed there, just no data. I repeated these steps a few times, always with the same results. The same 4 channels are missing data. I noticed that these channels do not have the json files in the epg. I checked my Schedules Direct account and these missing channels are in the zip code I entered. And they were populated previous to my removing the one channel. For whatever reason, Emby is not pulling data for these channels, or SD is not sending the data. Any ideas? Thanks, Bobby
jasonmcroy 315
Not sure, but I brought up the same issue in another thread in the Schedules Direct thread. You should post your logs too. Sent from my SM-G386T1 using Tapatalk

Thanks, Bobby truthfully i got lost reading that whole procedure that you went through. i'm not even sure what led you to believe that you needed to do all that. you can just change the HDHR setting and then wait for the emby refresh guide operation to pick up the change. or you can run it manually to have it happen immediately. i think what we will do going forward is put the epg cache in a location that is not as easily discoverable so that users don't feel the need to tinker with it. we design all features so that you can manage everything in the UI without having to do that. Hi @@Luke, where did you locate the epg cache? I made some changes in the channels.conf of my vdr backend, but these aren't recongnized by emby live tv. It's not possible to reload the channels and epg data by refreshing the guide under scheduled tasks. What else can be done? Luke 36999
if the channels reported by the back end change, they will changed in emby during the refresh guide task. that's basically all you really need to know. so you want to get with the plugin developer to ensure the plugin is pulling them
hoppel118 37
@@Luke Seemingly the plugin isn't pulling them. I am active in the developers thread, but don't get a helping answer. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/21231-vdr-plugin-development/?p=207065 The developer seems not be here very often. I can try it on github. The path to the epg data would be nice. Greetings Hoppel Edited May 27, 2016 by hoppel118
Luke 36999
there are no epg cache for the plugins, it all goes into the database. it is only the built in live tv that caches the downloaded epg.
