Emby and ID3 tags

Hi first post :) We just got a Roku stick and I wasn't sure if to post this here or in the Roku section but anyway.. I've been trying different servers for the last few days and ended up with Emby, it works, even streaming DVD iso's! Well I don't really like messing with metadata (I have jpg folder art for all music, movies, and concerts. so I just go with "non enhanced view". That being said I basically have 2 questions. It seems all my music shows up on the web page but not on the tv, can I fix this? Also, does Emby even read mp3 ID3 tags? If I use "enhanced view" of music, on the tv it doesn't even show that I have artists. Even in "non enhanced view" I do show cover art but I have a jpg in each album folder as well as embedded art in each song. My tags are immaculate btw. I use Mp3tag and I use "artist" field for this purpose. I say this because in searching these forums before I think I have run into a thread where something was brought up that it might make a difference if you use artist, artists, or album artist or something like that? I hope I was clear, if anyone can shed some light thanks :D

mmm.. I do have folders arranged as artist/album/song and they show up fine in unenhanced folder view, except of course the stuff that isn't showing up on the tv as I mentioned. I don't have song file names going (1- song), it's just the song name and the tag has the track #. One thing I will add is that it must be reading the tag partially right as I forgot to mention when viewing in enhance mode it does give album and genre with content but not artist. Don't know why that slipped my mind.. Is it a problem with the "artist" field that I use in my tagger (Mp3tag) as I mentioned? Wasn't that brought up in another thread? I'll also mention that my collection shows up perfect and the same with any other app/program whether on phone or pc. Thanks for replying so quickly btw.

I just thought I'd check something and the missing music shows up on the tv using the Roku Media Player using Emby as a server, just not the Emby app with Emby server .. Weird

Also noticed that the folder nonenhanced view in Emby app shows the count of songs (probably correctly) on the main artist folder, just that under that it fails to display any albums or songs.

I mentioned in the first post that it looks hunky dory in the web page. This is only going by 2 different artists that I just happened to notice so far, other music does show up I just have no idea how many/much fails to show if I open the artist folder. Let me just add again that I would much like to stay with Emby, it seems to all around be working as advertised. I even learned while reading another thread about further settings/editing to the metadata and after tweaking some stuff and backing up the metadata folder(s) in appdata I tried refreshing music with metadata enabled on the main page. Don't know if it will work at this stage but since I can probably undo everything wouldn't hurt to see what it comes up with. I like how you can tweak how much and what metadata to get. That's nice.

It appears that if you limit metadata enabled fields for the entire category of "Movies" or "Music" it doesn't limit any individual movie or artist enabled fields below. Hmmm..
