doug.dimick 12
I have LiveTV working fine with SchedulesDirect and HDHR Prime. I don't see any way to choose specific tuners to utilize, though. What I'd like to do is dedicate two tuners to my MythTV backend, and one to Emby. Can that be accomplished?
Luke 36888
As the moment there is no such configuration.
mediacowboy 438
I don't believe this can be done as emby looks at the device and not the individual tuner. Luke or she correct me if I'm wrong. Luke beat me to it. Edited October 5, 2015 by mediacowboy
doug.dimick 12
Is it likely that this will be added, or that a MythTV plugin will come along first?
Luke 36888
well we're going full steam ahead with the features that don't require a plugin so a community member will have to build mythtv, which i think would be great if that happens. i think @@babgvant mentioned some interest in this. if other people chime in here about this request then that will help tell us what the demand is. babgvant 143
I wrote a basic MythTV TV plugin. Unfortunately, MythTV's service API doesn't support LiveTV, and the underlying app doesn't play nice with other applications (they rejected my patch to enable tuner locking), so tuner sharing isn't going to end well. There might be workarounds, but ultimately the only reliable way is to address the issue is in MythTV. Given my experience with their developers I am not going to pursue fixing MythTV, or further development on the plugin (I'm now using NextPVR instead).
