jimphreak 0 Posted September 3, 2015 Share Posted September 3, 2015 Now that Plex has added support for SSL for most of it's apps (Android, iOS, Smart TV, Roku, etc.) I'm wondering if and when Emby will be doing the same. Let me first say that I've been a Plex user for years now and I'm trying out Emby for the first time as we speak. I like it so far but the secure connections support is a pretty big factor for me in choosing to go with Emby. I have a good deal (20+ of remote users) who connect to my server through just about every device you can think of (Rokus, Chromecasts, Samsung TVs, Google TVs, Amazon Fire TVs, phones, tablets, and of course web browsers) and having those connecting be secure it going to be a deal breaker for me now that Plex supports it. I will happily buy a lifetime subscription if I know that's either currently supported or shortly on the horizon. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Well there in lies the problem, I can't manually install it on every device that connects to my server as some of them are across the country and those users are not tech savy at all. Obviously if you can get a certificate from an already trusted CA by all your devices it will be much easy.
