For me live tv is not working well it is a hit and miss I have hdhomerun tuners and have been using aceplayer to watch live tv on ipad until silicondust develop their own app. Aceplayer starts live tv almost immediately and it starts everytime and plays perfectly but in ios web client it works and doesnt.

It is just a suggestion if it works perfectly in aceplayer it should work perfectly in emby.

Keep up the great work

We can definitely, but sorry, comparing a native video player to the web video player is not a fair fight. The web player isn't allowed to autoplay, so you have to click the video player button in the center of the screen. And if AcePlayer is direct playing the stream then that means they must have paid dolby for an ac3 license, something that isnt' even possible in a web version. our native app will be better than the web version but as of now we're not licensing from dolby so that means there will be some delay due to the server transcoding.

Thanks Luke for detailed reply wasn't aware of the issues. I was recommended AcePlayer through silicondust forum so thought I would try it I have the non-transcoding hdhomerun HDHR4-2DT(AU) and was just amazed how fast it starts and plays perfectly. So I thought I highly doubted but maybe the developers were not aware that it can be done. I wouldn't have thought it is the audio causing the delay.

Can something be implemented like in Raspberry Pi case where you licence for only few dollars.

I think you will be happier with the native app when it comes to live tv playback. For me using safari on iOS live tv just does not playback at all but with the native app it starts almost immediately.
