Guest petwri
I got a problem regarding music artwork in Emby. After an import (music properly tagged, even containing MBID's), music artwork is showing up for albums, but not for songs. I have a "folder.jpg" file stored in every album folder with the structure "artist/album/xx-xx track.ext" (which means that the cover art is stored as "artist/album/folder.jpg"), but no file-embedded artwork. The folder is recognized on an album level, but not per song - which does not really make sense. The Metadata manager shows primary images for ever "album" folder, but no "xx-xx track.ext" inside that folder. Problem occurs for all albums. So either I am doing something wrong, or this is kind of buggy. Server version is 3.0.5675.1. Thanks!
Luke 36996
can you show an example screenshot of one of your folders?
Guest petwri
I can't really make screenshots of the folders, since the server is running on a headless linux machine. fc7 123
I think @@Luke is talking about a screenshot of how the folder look on Emby webclient for example, not on the filesystem. On the other hand this is working fine for me running the same version of Emby on CentOS. Guest petwri
So, I rescanned my library, still the same problem. Here is a minimal example from the metadata manager: You can see, the artwork is showing up for the album, but not for every individual track. Luke 36996
That's not normal, no. I'll have to test it out.
Guest petwri
Just FYI, the artwork is also not showing up in Kodi when using the Arctic Zephyr Exploded skin. Fanart and extrafanart are working, but cdart and cover are missing. Edited August 24, 2015 by petwri

sigma 1
I can also confirm this issue. Emby 3.0.5724.6 running on Ubuntu 14.04.1 with Mono 4.0.4. Albums are correctly tagged, and songs have cover art in the emby album browser, but not in search or the metadata manager. Although all my songs have embedded art I have disabled the image extractor in the songs metadata tab, in the hope my folder.jpg would also be used for the songs. Maybe this is a recent issue of the library scanner since fc7 can't reproduce? Maybe a solution would be to give the option to inherit the art from album in the songs metadata tab? EDIT: Songs have artwork in Kodi now thanks to a recent commit on the Emby.Kodi github (thanks angelblue05!). I just tested the master release and it works properly, an update to the official Kodi repo will follow soon I presume. Angelblue05 4130
@@petwri If you are asking about using parent artwork (album) for songs, it is available since beta version 1.1.50. Latest beta is now 1.1.52. If you are on that version and it's still missing, just reset your database and it should add them. Guest petwri
Thanks for the help, I will try that as soon as possible. I just read on the Kodi forum (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=225088) that addons can modify kodis databases and add artwork in a practically unlimited way. Therefore my question: what sorts of artwork does the Emby addon add to the Kodi music / video database?
