Few issues with Android App

Running the latest Emby app from google play on a Oneplus One

 

All seems fine and videos play well.

 

The few issues I have come across:

-When playing videos over 3G / 4G and the signal drops out (on the train) the video closes and you have to start from the beginiing again. Is there anyway to make it wait / buffer?

-From the above issue, it is not remembering where it go to position when the video drops out . If i play something in the web interface the position is remembered on the Android App  and also if I play something on the android app and manually stop the video the position is synced to the webinterface

-I cant get sync to work. My device shows up in the sync list but when I press sync, nothing happens. Am i missing something here?

 

 

Apart from the above emby has been perfect and Im glad I moved over to it

For point 2 the resume point is stored on the server. ..if you have lost connection to the server then obviously the resume point can not be stored

Well it should be passing the resume point all throughout playback, so i guess this scenario will need testing.

The same thing happens to me. I was looking at Emby as a Plex alternative because Emby can be configured to play straight from my server without going through Emby's servers. When the signal drops out for Plex all it does it pause and pop up a message and make me hit retry, it does not drop out and force me to play from the beginning again. I have not tried reinstalling my Emby server and configuring it to go through Emby's servers to see if it at least will remember the position then.

 

It would be awesome if Emby would just wait and retry without exiting when the signal gets weak. I work in the basement of a large building, so the signal gets a little weak at times at my desk. Please have the devs change that default behavior as its a little unfriendly right now.
