nick naim 17
Hi! I have been running Kodi for some time now and recently switched to run an emby server, so I can use its transcoding capabilities for some devices. Everything runs pretty smoothly and I am quite happy with my new setup! One (admittedly minor) nuisance I discovered with the emby plugin for Kodi is that the season fanart is not displayed. It worked great when I ran Kodi with an SQL server and it works when I use the emby app for Android. I currently run emby for Kodi 1.1.13 and Kodi 15.0, but I had this issue before with Kodi 14.2. Would be great if that feature could be added. Thanks!
Angelblue05 4130
Artwork should show for seasons, like anything else. Are they showing in your webclient?
Angelblue05 4130
You could always try to do the cache all artwork to Kodi (launch Emby add-on, the option is near the end of the list), see if that forces your season artwork to show up.
nick naim 17
Thanks for your reply, Angelblue. To clarify: The background fanart does show in Kodi, but only the "global" TV Show background. When I browse through the seasons of a TV Show, the background stays the same and does not show the season-specific background. In the webclient and the emby app for Android, it shows the season-specific background. It also did on Kodi, before I used emby server. I had the feature "Auto add images to the Kodi texture cache" enabled under the "Sync Options" in the settings menu. I hope that helps, let me know if you need more information. Angelblue05 4130
Oh, I see what you mean now. So you are expecting season backdrops to show but it only shows the tv show's backdrop is displaying. I don't think we currently import season backdrops. Added it to our trello board: https://trello.com/c/qdGFVWSL/123-missing-season-backdrops When someone has a moment, it will get done. cw-kid 192
I don't get this, does the Emby metadata manager even download specific season fanart images? I have different posters for each season, but never seen different fanart images for each season, even when using MySQL.
Angelblue05 4130
You can manually add any type of image to any content in Emby. So if you wanted season fanart you can add manually add them and they'll be loaded into Kodi. However, I could not find an automatic way of downloading backdrops at season level. What I did was download the images I wanted at TV Show level and added the backdrop at season level.
cw-kid 192
Oh OK makes sense now. I did a similar thing in the metadata manager and added Live TV Channel logo images to each channel.
nick naim 17
I upgraded the emby plug-in today and the season backdrops are working! Thanks for getting this fixed so quickly!
