Windows 10 Store not allowing purchase

Hi Guys I recently upgraded from windows 7 to 10 and was really impressed with the app downloaded from the windows store on a trial.

 

However the windows store does not allow me to buy the app, failing with the attached error.post-57754-0-59349300-1438418635_thumb.jpg

 

My Microsoft account is linked to paypal.

 

Please take my money! lol

 

If you could please let me know if there is anything you can do it would be appreciated.

ROFL, the "Something Went Wrong" message, gotta love it. I saw that SO many times trying to upgrade to Win10.

I purchased the App. When the store tries to install it, I am told it can't find it for installation. So at least you still have your money.

Have you tried restarting the computer? Win10 is a bit unstable atm..

Multiple times. Explicitly set my regional language, deleted caches. and more. Have tried every solution I could think of. It is a store issue though because other Apps won't download either.

I have restarted multiple times and have run sfc /scannow with no problems found. Deleted the store cache. I tried buying another app and it failed in the same way.

 

Thanks Guys, while funny, this is actually probably related to the "Something happened Something happened" error on upgrading windows 10. I received this error message when upgrading and changed the administrative region to the US to force it to upgrade. This may be punishment for being mean to the upgrade program. lol

 

I changed the region back as soon as possible, but ended up with two regions in the app store US and Australia.

I tried with a card already in use on the store, I ended up using a diff. card and added it to my payment methods first THEN went back and got the app.. all worked fine that way.

 

What it did not seem to like was using a card not in my name, during time of purchase. But as mentioned, when using a card in MY name, as a payment source FIRST, then went back to buy the app.. all worked great. -- Btw, the app looks and works SO much better then the other clients. Only issue was having to run a Loopback so I can use it on my same machine on the second app..-- and that seems to break the "playto" function .. but I dont need it since the app lets me find/play what I want. I am slowly losing my desire to have a web UI page opened to navigate my files and then "playto" on my second monitor.

If you press the "3 ellipses"-button next to the playbutton, doesn't that give you an option to PlayTo?

It's just that PlayTo doesn't wok in the same way as the webclient (yet) where you select a player first and then the content to play.

Hi guys I have tried:

 

A different credit card (in my name) by itself and this didn't work.

 

I tried paypal by itself but that didn't work.

 

I tried my other credit card (in my name) and it didn't work either.

 

Then I tried all three options and the same result:

 

Something Went Wrong. :blink: So very specific and informative. lol

 

It is a real shame as I was very keen to use the App as I loved it in the two day trial. Very frustrating.  :(

I am trying to play TO the App from the web UI in FireFox. I just want to use the App as a full screen "monitor" more then I want to use it as a full blown app. But if I can't do that then I will just keep using it as is, without using the web UI on my main monitor to play to my second monitor. :(

The problem would be to keep the app updated since this is handled via store.

The Win10  SR1 update was released today, just run windows update, which fixes ALOT of bugs Maybe it fixes your issue also? :)

Well the update didn't work. A fresh install using the media creation tool on a USB stick worked for me. I had some other problems and they unfortunately persist. lol. I should have known better than to upgrade so soon.

Yep it did fix the issue.

 

Huge shout out to EBR for the server configuration backup plugin. :D

 

It worked awesomely and saved me at least an hour and a half.

 

I will leave a review for the plugin shortly.

 

It is great to finally have access to the store.

 

I purchased the app but haven't really had a chance to look at it yet.

Hi 7illusions. I have only just had a chance to actually run the app now that I have been able to purchase it and it is not working. 

 

The page opens and the windows logo spins but nothing happens. 

 

It is running on the server so I ran Windows8LoopbackManager.exe and checked Emby and clicked save.

 

It is not showing on the server as a device.

 

I have restarted the computer several times.

 

I have disabled my anti-virus kaspersky and the windows firewall but this did not help.

 

There are two logs which occur when the application crashes out on clicking the sync button:

And when I view the logs another menu item appears - app commands. When this is selected a menu item home is available. When pressed the app crashes but there is no log.

 

I uninstalled and redownloaded the app and this did not help. I uninstalled ran wsreset and redownloaded and this also did not help.

 

I did notice that the store section "downloads and installs" is blank? Like the attached image. Clicking on the update button results in a never ending spinning windows logo.

 

Can't believe a full reinstall hasn't fixed this problem. Has to be Microsoft server side.
