lja 48
In WMC the TV Guide shows "no data available". It appears that MS has changed the provider to ROVI. I have been trying different Zip codes near my location but so far no luck. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it? porkbone 38
Total p.i.t.a.! Took 4 hours to find the right zip code that would finally download the new guide. Still some bugs with the guide data - minor, but it looks better. Tried everything from changing the DNS to google's, deleting WMC and reinstalling it then deleting the guide folder and related file more than once. It doesn't always work with a zip code that works on one computer but not the next. I have 2 WMC I had to fix plus a new build I'm doing for a client. I hope they get this worked out soon. I almost gave up.
ab123ga 11
I've read where Rovi is looking into all of the issues but there is no ETA to fix their guide data. This switch was a complete joke and as I noted on the connect.microsoft.com feedback site Rovi guide is a complete joke. I have my guide but recordings are a problem. I did a guide update today and it put 2 shows for MSNBC in the 1E and 2E timeslot that were cancelled at least 6 months ago. I went to the roviguide.com site and it too has the shows that don't even exist. Rovi's data is suspect at best but we are stuck with it.
overClocked! 63
I was having a problem with none of my channels working starting at around midnight 8/1/2015. I did everything I could think of resetting up TV signal on WMC to re-download guide data, troubleshooting with Comcast / Xfinity (useless by the way ). In the end, I determined that I needed to replace my CableCard as the Ceton diagnostic utility kept alternating between no CableCard being detected one minute and then seeing it the next and so on. After I replaced the card at the Service Center the next day, I re-paired it with the Ceton InfiniTV, went through the WMC TV setup and had Comcast resend the authorization signal to get all my channel subscriptions working again. I now have 14 days worth of guide data whereas I would normally have about 11 or 12 days worth before. So, just saying that might help some of you having problems with recordings and tuning channels. lja 48
Did nothing different. Reran TV setup again (after may previous ones) and the download of data started. Working again. Edited August 3, 2015 by lja
JeremyFr79 228
The issues with no data being found etc, are actually issues with Akamai. what happens is your DNS end's up sending you to one of Akamai's edge routers that has a broken connection to the data. This is usually most easily fixed with a custom entry in your HOSTS file for the 2 specific sites needed for guide data etc.
