Change extra file location

Hello

 

log shot most likely will be turn down but worth a try

 

Plex and Emby share same library is what i am talking about

 

So i want to move all backdrops, Trailers , info , ect files off the main folder of movie folder the reason is because it cause huge issue with other setting i have in place.

 

Please see screen shot

 

 

So this how main movie folder will look like only Video of the movie or TV show or whatever it is

 

Why ? because : please see the attach screen shots

 

 

 

When i am using same library for 2 or 3 system i.e Kodi or Plex these backdrops really create an issue

Hello Ebr,

 

to use Emby library with plex i think i need to avoid Backdrops with S folder as that folder has some extra files called theme

 

 

I did some digging and found out having that folder even as Hidden causes the backdrops to show up. 

so i am not sure what would best way to remove backdrops ? open to ideas

 

If you look at this example Emby Metadata run with no problem and Plex did not have an issue

 

 

 

 

Now as far Unchecking "Save images and metadata in the media folders". i have done that and Emby did not get metadata at all.

in theory Unchecking that option and define a location such as Images by names folder should worked but that is not the case here

Hello Here is more screen shot of what i am seeing

 

 

 

 

So in Emby the movie secret wont have metadata but same time plex will grab and update the media library right a way

Theme backdrops are a special feature of Emby and can only be in that place.  However, they are not required and the only way you would have any is if you either manually put them there or have a plug-in that is doing it.

 

As for your other option, it is most likely unrelated to the saving option.  It is probably an item identification problem.

That is actually correct so to fix my issue i created ignore list for plex so it will by pass backdrops and theme-music folders

testing it now

My main issue resolved but i am still not able to get meta data saved on different locations 

Uncheck "Save images and metadata in the media folders".

 

what do i need to do to get that part of MB to work ?

Do you realise that once you uncheck that option it will only work for newly added items? Ie it will not go back and rescan your library and move existing metadata

Thanks for the tip i did not know that i will remove the library and re added them again as i have only 2% of data in added folder in the library

i will give it a shot and i hope Emby see added files as new items
