How to Stop Downloading Show Images?

How can I prevent emby from downloading show images for live tv?  It's using too much of my monthly data allotment.

I'm using ServerWMC if it's plugin dependent. In the emby server logs I see loads of "Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: http://images-eds.xboxlive.com/image?url=..." calls saving the images to 'mediabrowser-server\data\metadata\livetv\...'

The refresh guide process is also being triggered whenever serverwmc starts (such as after a computer restart), despite deleting all refresh guide task triggers.

Not sure on the emby side, but you can force serverwmc to not send program images to ALL of its clients.  Go to the 'Display Options' tab in swmc and check both:

  Ignore Recording images

  Ignore EPG images

Thanks, that did the trick, though it still downloaded the images for my recordings.

Another couple of questions.

1. When I use media center and images appear in the details of the guide, are those images stored locally on my machine, or is microsoft downloading them on the fly?

2. Why download an image for each episode, instead of just for each show. I have 370 copies of the same image (yeah, I have 370 recordings of the same show).

WMC grabs the images not Emby. Not really sure what you are talking about. Did you add the recorded tv folder in emby?

The recorded tv folder is not in emby's known media folders.  In the emby server log, there's lots of these (this was for recorded tv, but it's essentially the same for guide items):

2015-07-28 15:18:08.9651 Debug - App: Saving C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV\Jeopardy!_WCDCDT_2014_09_19_19_28_00.wtv to database.
2015-07-28 15:18:08.9651 Debug - App: Running RecordingImageProvider for C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV\Jeopardy!_WCDCDT_2014_12_04_19_28_00.wtv
2015-07-28 15:18:08.9651 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: http://images.windowsmedia.com/tvcards/org/1612_19.jpg
2015-07-28 15:18:09.0431 Debug - ProviderManager: Saving image to C:\Users\TV Room\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\metadata\livetv\93aae5e7d6e282317f5368d28a169d89\folder.jpg

which leads me to believe media center is not downloading the images with the guide, just references to the images.  Then serverwmc passes these references to emby and emby downloads them. But I could be wrong.

right, wmc does not download the images, the images are website urls.  If images are enabled, serverwmc hands these urls to emby and emby downloads the images.

Sorry to revive an old post, but this confuses me... currently none of my recordings get images in Emby, they just show as colored boxes with the name. The programs contain images in the guide, but not when they are recorded. I was told in a recent post that this is because ServerWMC does not pass the images to Emby, however from this post that doesn't seem to be the case. Can someone please provide me with a definitive answer regarding whether its Emby or ServerWMC or what that aggreates the images, and if possible, why I don't get any for my recordings. Thanks!
