Transcoding when transcoding ain't even needed (mp4->vp8?!)

Hi there.

 

I know i've mentioned this before, but it still happens.

 

I have an mp4 file with a h264 videostream, which can be directly played, the only thing preventing the entire thing from playing directly, is the fact it has no stereo/5.1 AAC audio stream, but only an AC3 stream.

 

but instead of converting the AC3 stream to a stereo/5.1 AAC stream, the entire video is converted to vp8 + vorbis.

Why not copy the h264 stream if it can be directly played, and only convert the AC3 straem to Vorbis or AAC? There is support in ffmpeg to do just this.
