jamvids 37
Hi, since the last update with the new now playing screen (which is looking good) it only plays one song, then hangs. If I start playing something either video on Chromecast or music on the app then dock my phone (put it on charge) , it causes the app to refresh, then control is lost, in the case of music it keeps playing til I reboot the phone. If you stop a playlists you can't resume it. Minimise the app for a little while it also refreshes. The Web app has always done this. I Rebooted my phone earlier and got a boat load of notifications of episodes of a TV show I put on a few weeks ago. I am not sure if you have fixed it yet but the device music enhancements don't appear to be working still, I have access to the alpha area I can do some testing for you in future, mainly on the music front if you like.
Luke 36999
Thanks, will look at these. What do you mean by stop/resume playlist? I don't think this is an issue with the app. We don't really do resume for playlists anywhere at this point.
Luke 36999
And as far as the enhancements go, unfortunately we're not using the native audio player. We're using Vlc, which is what allows us to play everything without transcoding. It obviously has a whole boatload of settings that I can expose in the UI if you would like. You can also make a separate topic about switching to the stock audio player so that I can gauge what demand would be for that vs Vlc.
jamvids 37
The playlists thing is if I am listening to something and press stop, I have to then go back through the menus to start playing it again, I usually listen on random so it's no biggie but it does just dissappear, you can't simply just press play, I will have a look at VLC, it's a graphic equaliser that my heart desires. Maybe some bass boost.
Crestj 67
I am also experiencing the chromecast issues you've described. Tbh I don't think the chromecast support has been working properly in the android app for a while now. I also have had the load of new episodes notification come in even if they were added weeks ago. Crestj 67
Do we have an eta on this release? I only use the android app for casting to my chromecast.

Luke 36999
Ok guys, the update will start rolling out today, and this will contain the new video player based on Vlc as well as numerous Chromecast fixes. It will be a slow, staged rollout, so if you're one of the lucky ones who gets it first, please make sure to let us know how it's going as that will dictate how quickly we make it available for everyone. Thanks.
