mbc0 61
Hi, I am succesfully using the fantastic sync facility on several devices but have a problem with large(ish) files on one device (MXQ Android Box) I have tried using different quality settings and original setting which dont help as the file will sit in transferring forever. I am looking in the C:\Users\MEDIASERVER\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\logs folder at the logs but I cannot find anything that can indicate what the problem is? is there something I can look for, maybe a progress report of some kind? anything that will help me identify the issue. Many Thanks

mbc0 61
Hi Luke, it is a remote device (My Parents) If I send a file to them over FTP is takes about 15 minutes to send a 500mb file but with Emby Sync it is taking approx 1 1/2 to 2 days! just looking to see if there is any way of monitoring progress? Should the connection be interrupted will the transfer resume or start again? I have 160MB Fibre & they have 20MB Broadband... mbc0 61
Hi Luke, Just to let you know that the syncing to a remote device over the internet is working but can take 2-3 days to transfer! as I stated in my last post I can ftp very quickly, is there some kind of limiter? the upload speed is blank in the sync settings, does this mean it uses all available bandwidth? Cheers This screen has been like it for 3 days now... each file is 1GB Edited July 1, 2015 by mbc0

mbc0 61
Hi Luke, Is there any chance you can answer the questions on post 4 & 5 when you get a chance please? I still have files in "Transferring" to several devices for over a week now, would love to get on top of this and see if there is some way I can see what is going on? Luke 36886
i'm not sure yet. we'll probably need to look at the downloading code.
bmoses 9
did anything get found with this? i set my brother up to be able to sync things to his phone from my server (remotely) and in our initial tests it seems that transferring the file to him is taking longer than it should. A 382meg file started transferring about 7:30 this morning and its now 1:20pm and its still in transferring status. he has about a 5Mbps download internet connection and my upload is 20Mbps, at most it should have taken about 30 minutes to send to him. Luke 36886
Probably the issue is it is using android's sync service framework which means the execution is system managed, runs in the background, and the system decides how much resources to devote to it. We ran another test which produced a 145 meg file and once it started transferring it only took 3 minutes. other than doing an additional sync test thats the only setting i changed.
