Media Browser Class in Windows Media Center suddenly no resume option?

This might be more of a codec/windows issue.. but.. all of sudden, without any new updates done to windows or changes in codecs.. the resume button that used to work and appear after 5 minutes in the show (mkv or other format).. is no longer an option when you exit

This is under windows 8.1 U1.

Does anyone have any tips on why this is going on and how to fix..

Thanks

Make sure the server has proper media info on the item.  Specifically, the length.

This is happening to my setup as well. could it have anything to do with mpc-hc updating? I don't remember if it has updated lately. markm75 did yours start working again after re scanning your library?

Same issue for me as well.

The file lengths are fine in server.

It's not that I don't get the resume button necessarily, it's that if I play a file with MPC, the resume button no longer appears after watching 5 minutes or more.

If I use the app from tablet, the resume function appears after watching.

I didn't change anything on the MPC side as far as I can tell.

Any other tips to troubleshoot?

Thanks,

CFC

Make sure the web interface is enabled in the MPC-HC settings.

I checked, and the web interface is enabled. Port 13579 if that makes a difference, and "Enable Compression" is checked.

Thanks.

Sorry for getting back on this so late.

All seems to work fine now, but there's been several server updates since and all. If I notice anything, I'll report back.

Thanks for the help ebr!
