Streaming to Kindle fire/fire tv

I set up my first Emby server and everything seems to have gone quite well!  All of my media displays beautifully, however, not all of it works.  Some of it works but most of it doesnt when streaming to my Kindle Fire HDX or my fire tv.  I think it might have something to do with file types.  I have a mix of AVI, MP4 and MKV.  It appears that mp4 works, but others do not.  How can i fix this?  Id hate to have to convert everything, but if i have to i will.

Can you provide the server and transcode logs that capture events that took place when your streaming sessions failed?

I just got an Amazon Fire TV and will set it up this weekend for some testing. It would be good to know if there are issues of which I should be aware. But I don't think the file type should matter since Emby Server transcodes the media files into a format that your client/device can recognize. That being said, does the user account you are login in as have transcoding permissions disabled?

 

From the Emby a Server menu, select Users --> User Account --> Media Playback and make sure these options are checked.

I should preface this by saying that i was trying to use my fire hdx over the internet with ports forwarded.  The media all displays, but didnt play.  It would act like it was buffering, then it would go back to the information page.  However, i had the same problem internally(and with the fire tv)

 

I double checked the settings for the users and the user i am logging on as does have that box checked(everything but media deletion and disable user)  I have a bunch of different log files, but ill upload the most recent.  I was trying different things last night and it started working.  However, now at the beginning of playback it pops up a message about a trial that will expire in two weeks, become a supporter to unlock permanently.  All i did before that was install handbrake because i was going to try converting files.  I also installed Klite Codec pack.  
 
Trying to troubleshoot, i uninstalled handbrake, but i still get the message.  Not sure what trial that is, but im afraid everything will stop working when the trial expires.
 
I apologize in advance for the dumb questions, Im new to this software.

 

Of the two uploaded files, i believe the first one(transcode-6ac5) is before handbrake and klite.

 

The other is after that.  

Any help is appreciated!  Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me, or what youd like me to try.

Wow, i feel like an idiot haha.  I guess i was just too excited to get this set up and going that i didnt read the description.  Thanks for that though!  I wonder why it wasnt working before handbrake though...  As long as it works, im happy!  I am curious how i can change audio transcoding, it sounds muffled/echoish on some videos.

P.S.  If i purchase the app on amazon does it count as supporting? Or should i do it through the website?  And if i do it through the website will the app know im a supporter?  I imagine ill have to sign in as the user i created on the website instead of the user i created on my server?

Being an Emby Supporter and unlocking an individual app are two separate things.  The first brings you a whole raft of additional features as well as free access to the app whereas the latter just gives you access to full functionality in that one app.

 

It will know you are a supporter because you will input a supporter key in your server dashboard.
