I can use the Android Client and log in as long as I stay on the home network.  Once I leave the home network it requires new sign in credentials.  I can't get anything to work.  What are the proper ones.

Is your server accessible outside your home network ie have you configured port forwarding etc?

I am guessing it is probably not related to login but just the fact that the app cannot reach your server when away from home. so you might need to check your port forwarding to open it up.

OK sorry I was sure there was a section there regarding port forwarding, anyway what you need to do is set your router to forward port 8096 to the local IP address of the device that emby server is running on

Okz im having the same issue. Im pretty sure that port isnt forwarded on my router. Are there any reason emby doesnt use upnp like what plex does? From what i understand, with plex, as soon as you sign in to myplex, the 32400 port gets auto forwarded. Please correct me if im wrong :)

We do that as well but it doesn't work with every router model. the only guarantee is setup port forwarding.
