I just installed emby on Wetek Openelec

Kodi/Emby 0.1.91

Titan 3.3.13

OpenElec 5.0.8

Observations:

  • System movies play back is chubby, lagging and freezing
  • Compressed data keep popping up and remain for a while, also when a movie  is in play mode,
  • Navigating up/down on movies is slow to respond, and posters/fanart takes a while to populate, freeze while navigating up/down
  • Movies/Tvs backdrop blanked out several times, and rotations frezee as many times
  • in short the experience is not pleasant

I have attached logs for your perusal, I see a lot of errors in these logs hope it revels something worthwhile.

Thanks as usual for your kind supports

Observations on Confluence (performance better than previously reported)

  • quite a bit smother in confluence, when I pressed down arrow, no lag or freeze
  • A slow navigation up/down there is lag between poster/backdrop, not quite synchronized in the display (not major issue)
  • when a movie/tv is active i.e play, it spikes, whiles movie play is ongoing very smooth.
  • compressed data very fast, but happen frequently is this normal?

The lag could this be due to large number Movies (--->are over 2000) files the system have to process?

Can you try the github version. I enabled some logging, hopefully it will show us what's happening because I see an error.

As usual, download the github zip. %appdata/Roaming/Kodi/addons/plugin.video.emby replace the content inside with the content from the zip. Retry and repost your new logs. Thanks :)

xnappo

Keep in mind the WeTek is a fairly weak ARM-based CPU.  Still, playback shouldn't be any different from native.

This is what you should see inside the Emb.Kodi-master - Copy everything and paste into Kodi\ADDONS\plugin.video.emby NOT Userdata\addon_data\plugin.video.emby

The artwork needs to be cache, which can take a little. I do not see the error I was looking at before, but I'm guessing reseting your database helped things a lot. What you can do for the artwork is either you can use the texturecache.py scrip following what is said here: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/21469-instructions-to-cache-images/

or just manually run your cursor through all your menus (tedious)

I googled and found out there are others that have been having issues with Wetek Openelec 5.0.8.

If it doesn't work out go here:

http://openelec.tv/get-openelec

Scroll down to Wetek and get the beta and do what you do.

Thanks mate, I will check it out, but it seems ok for now, except for the lag in posters.

Ok, we might have a lead on what's causing this. I think xnappo found the cause. @@e123enitan, I will push an attempt to fix on github. Are you ok to try the version out? You don't need to start from scratch, just replace the content and run Kodi as usual. Let us know if it improves this issue for you.

Yes I am on OpenElec, I don't see folder %appdata/Roaming/Kodi-------

So it will be ok to add to userdata folder-correct?
