corey 312
I'm having trouble recently on my encodes for an Xbox 360 that's used as a WMC Extender with Emby. There's significant audio / video sync issues, and the video will sometimes just stop playing. Here's the MediaInfo for both a file that played fine (Interstellar) and one that does not (Breaking Bad, all are like this, I've provided sample info for an episode):Interstellar: General Complete name : \\MEDIASERVER\media\film\Interstellar (2014)\Interstellar (2014).m4v Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : The bitrate jumps out to me as potentially being the issue (via http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/system/audio-video-playback).My version of Emby Server is: 3.0.5607.2 and MediaBrowser Classic is: 3.0.266.0Thanks! Luke 37008
The bitrate is the likely culprit. in my experience the xbox 360 has difficulty with anything over 10-12. i am surprised your first file plays well, to be honest.
corey 312
Thanks for the quick response Luke! Follow-up question. Is there any way to force a transcode at the server so it will playback properly on my Xbox 360?
Luke 37008
@@ebr will have to respond to that one, i'm not sure.
ebr 14903
Not exactly, but, depending on your exact requirements, you may be able to trick it... As long as we can directly access it MBC just feeds the item to WMC and it takes it from there. So, if you were to put that item in a location that the MBC machine could not see, then we would ask the server to transcode it instead. You could give that a try with just that TV series and see if it works for you.
corey 312
Thanks @@ebr. I'm not sure if that'll work for my use case because I have MBC and Emby Server on the same machine.
