ESO223 32
Wasn't certain this was the best forum for this... Anyway, I'm hoping there's a way developers can add {Genre} as a token under the "Video playback started" Notification. What I'm doing is piecing together a script using IFTTT that will notify my home automation systems (mainly Philips Hue) to change color based on the Genre, User, and Client playing. For example, a particular user starts watching a Horror film on the Living Room television the script triggers and the lights dim and change to red. The other way I thought of doing this was using Advanced Intros, but there's no Intro that plays based on Genre. If anyone else has any other ideas I'd love to hear them. But I think the easiest way of accomplishing what I'm after is just to have a new token added for that particular notification. It'd also be helpful to include other tokens we could use for triggers - such as TV vs. Movies. Thanks for any consideration!
dnicks 25
did you have any luck on this? i'd like to have a script for ifttt just to notify me of new episodes. i know there are plugins available but they seem to include all the messages and blog posts too, which i don't really want as a notification. ESO223 32
I wasn't able to get it to work with Genre, but I did set up a complicated method where I use E-mail notifications to trigger an event on IFTTT to then dim the lights to a lower, movie watching setting. I use iOS and have both the Wink and Hue systems at home. It worked alright (although there was about a minute delay). Sort of gave up on the idea until maybe something better comes along.
