My system is:

 

Media Browser Server 3.0.5597.1

Media Browser Classic 3.0.58.0

 

Yesterday Media Browser Classic requested to update from 258 to 266 and I let it.  After the update MBC gave me the "invalid application" error.

 

Here are two logs from yesterday.  Please note that I have tried to uninstall and reinstall several times, so that may be in the logs.

Something has gone really wrong. WMC thinks version 262 is installed.  You didn't copy the mediabrowser.dll anywhere at any time did you?

 

I would attempt a re-install from the web site.

I haven't removed any files, but I will double check if you would tell me where it is located.

 

I did try to remove MB but that failed.  I have downloaded and tried to re-install 266.  It seems to do okay until it starts WMC and tries to automatically open MB.  I then get the same "invalid application" error as stated above.

 

I think I need to completely clean MB off the computer and start new, but I can not because the uninstall doesn't work.

Search your entire computer for "mediabrowser.dll".  I think what may have happened here is the special processing that Windows will do if you try to install something without proper permissions.  In that case, sometimes it will install the item into a special folder within your user area and then, later, when you install again it goes into the proper place and now you have two of them.

 

I've seen this happen on rare occasions. Its just a guess but it sounds kind of like what is going on here.

Sorry it has take so long to get back with you, I've been out of town.

 

I can not find the file mediabrowser.dll, Although I have found several dll files associated with MediaBrowser Server.

 

I think my best bet is to completely remove MediaBrowser and re-install it.  to do this I will need to know how to manually remove all directories and references MB, including in the registry and anywhere else the Windows will get information that would make it think that MB is installed.  If you could provide that info I will give it a try.

Both the server and MBC create Uninstallers in Add/Remove Programs.

The uninstaller doesn't work, so I can re-install. Please see the two screen shots at the end of my original post.

Same boat.....

 

But I do not get the 'Invalid Application'....  Emby Classic just will not start at all....  when trying to open Emby Classic, it does nothing and WMC just sits there unresponsive.  I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill WMC....

 

I am on Server Dev Version 3.0.5785.41217

When trying to open Emby Classic within WMC, I have to wait 2 minutes and 13 seconds for the Login screen to appear.

Sounds like this, which is an issue with the current server.
