Images missing from 'Latest Media' on 'Home' Screen

I am using Emby Server on Windows x64 Sp1 all updates & fixes applied.

Version 3.0.5597.1

I had a problem where the images displayed for some of the films on the 'Latest Media' section of the 'Home' screen was the same. (Also 'Latest' Screen .... same images via different screen)
I worked out that the reference used on the screen appeared to be in the cache used by Emby Server.
I therefore deleted the cache to force the cache to be rebuilt on re-starting the server.
[Cache = C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\cache]

On restarting the server and displaying the home screen I get the following:
Emby_Latest_Media_zpsyw7jbs5x.png

This has not changed even after forcing a rescan of the media library from the 'Scheduled Tasks'.

It would be useful to know where the images are supposed to be to identify what needs to be changed.

Many Thanks for your help, love the Emby server et al as it all works wonderfully.
This problem may be a corruption which I would understand as I did have a power out that was unplanned.

I am trying a refresh all data on the Movies in the Metadata Manager. [it will be some time :-) ]

This may be related to a similar refresh issue I brought up in another thread.  Have you checked the movie folder to see what images, if any, it did download for those movies? Also a log from during the scan may be helpful

I'm curious to know what images are in your Network movie folder if that's where you save your images

Lots of similar posts with posters not loading. Haven't seen if anyone figured out the bug yet though reading the git updates.

I've posted a couple logs in the "is the refresh broken thread" though it probably got lost amongst the people who were having issues with refreshing episodes.  Basically a scan/refresh/identify will not create backdrop/fanart files for movies that are already in your library if no backdrop images are in the folder already.  All images are created for new movies though.  This is easy to duplicate.  Delete all metadata/images from any movie folder, then scan or refresh.   I have been reripping a lot of movies lately and I've always just deleted the old folder then created a new folder with the same name and hit refresh and it worked before

Now the funny part is that if you place any pic called backdrop in the folder, then click refresh then it creates all backdrop images also

Looking at the OP's picture I'm guessing that could be his issue also since he wiped out his cache and started fresh with all his images.  The movies he has no images for in that pic also don't have thumb files (i.e Network), so if it didn't create a backdrop then it can't overlay the movie name on an image for latest media.

Here is one of the log files I posted in the other thread.

http://pastebin.com/VH5xi8qY

Steps to duplicate:

1. Delete all metadata/images in a movie folder leaving just the mkv/srt file

2. Choose any refresh/identify option (rescanning does the same also)

3. All images are created except backdrops

4. Place a dummy backdrop file into movie folder

5. Rescan now and all backdrops are created

I've tried this both on the current beta and the most recent dev build as of the same date the log file above was created with the same result.  This has been a fairly new issue, though I'm not sure exactly which version it started with

That's correct. The broken links are not getting cleaned up. I'll fix that.

Your question lead me to investigate further.

There were many other errors which I could not understand.

Such as the correct files being in the correct place but not referenced by the database.

So I did the 'worse case fix' ...... re-installed Emby Server from scratch after totally de-installing the previous versions files.

Left all the media files/.jpg./.sub etc as created and named by the previous install in the directories for the Movies etc.

This has fixed the issues.

The database was corrupt in some way, possibly because of the power loss I had mentioned.

Thanks for the hints that pointed me in the right direction.

The files were in the correct location but not ALL being referenced by the database.

Update:

======

Sorry, read the posts after I did the re-install.

I have not got the logs etc to show.

It does sound very much like your error as posted though.

Ya, if you started a new Emby install then it would fix the problem too by deleting those broken links also.

I'm pretty sure what Luke says by him clearing those links in the next release will fix the problem where the backdrop files aren't being downloaded after deleting them and solve both our problems
