Web client not showing artwork for titles within boxset or collection

This has been going on for a while and I keep thinking it will just start working one day, but I thought I should report it as it has been a pretty long time.  Anyway, I name my collection folders like TitleofBoxset [boxset] and then have each item within it in the supported movienamefolder/movienamefile.ext format.  When browsing the web client, the artwork for the placeholder never shows up.  I have included a screen shot as I don't know how else to explain it.

As you can see in the image, Taken 3, The Hobbit, and [REC] Apocalypse are all part of their respective collections.  Not quite sure why they don't show up.  They do work fine in other clients like Roku, WMC and Android/Android TV...just not in web client.

This is not a recommended means of creating boxsets/collections and it will not work some newer functions tied to collections.  That said it can work in many cases.  I suggest posting a screenshot or text file that shows the structure and contents contents of a problem boxset folder.

Well really I suggest losing them entirely and creating your boxsets in the UI instead. ;)

I'll just not use the web client.  I have several hundred collections setup this way as it used to be the recommended method.  Too much to manually go through and edit, yet again.

With the auto boxset plugin it's really not much work.  I hadn't used it before about a week ago but it did an excellent job.  I let it run, deleted a few boxsets I didn't want to see, and then added a few that don't exist in tmdb that I've created.

Seriously, no collection for Harryhausen Sinbad movies??  TMDB is clearly wrong there.

Anyway, it took perhaps half an hour to establish around 100 collections, over 90 of them being automatic.

You don't actually have to restructure anything all you need to do is remove the metadata from your collection/boxset folders so the plugin can do its things and put that information where is wants it now (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\collections).

On a different note I would think collections should be relocated in the metadata/ibn folder.

Well, that's just it - I don't have any collection metadata.  It appears the [boxset] tag is the only thing preventing the images from showing up.  Aside from that, it's just a folder containing a few other folders with movies in them.  They are picked up properly as collections by the server, it just doesn't process web client images on the home page for movies existing in a collection.

Anyway, I'll live with the annoyance until it impacts clients I use.

what image are you expecting to be there?

See the image I attached in the first post.  It should be showing thumbnails of backdrops.
