nekromantik 24
Hi Back on MB plugin, when downloading subs using the Kodi plugins it saved in the server location where the media was located. On Emby it saves on the client which in my case is my Cubox and not on the media location on the server.

Luke 37060
I'm not sure what you mean, but the Emby Server subtitle download feature saves it with the media
nekromantik 24
Does the Emby plugin affect the subtitle plugins in Kodi?
Angelblue05 4130
How is your playback set? Local(SMB)? Remotely(HTTP)? I'm guessing if your paths are set properly and Kodi has access to it, it should put your subtitles in the actual content folder you are watching. Otherwise, it will put the subtitle file on the actual device. I'm pretty sure subtitles downloaded via Emby are playable on Kodi locally and via HTTP. So it might be the better option for you. Yeah I am using HTTP but all subs dont download to the Emby server only locally. I will check on kodi forum. Thanks
Angelblue05 4130
Ok, when you use HTTP playback, it will set the Filepath of the content pointing to your HTTP Emby server (http://yourembyserver:8096...). It does not point to the actual File path(\\yourserver\Movies\...). This is why Kodi is failing to put your downloaded subtitles in the actual folder where the item your playing is located. In this case, what I would suggest is for you to download your subtitles via your Emby server. This way Emby server will place them where your content is. Then when you play via HTTP, you can load the subtitles without having to download them to your device first. It will already be available to you. Does it help? It's not a Kodi issue. That helps thanks. Will try that or switch to SMB and see if that fixes it but I got plackback issues on smb.
Angelblue05 4130
If you have playback issue with SMB then it usually means your media folder paths are not set correctly. Do they look like C:\Movie instead of \\servername\Movie (this is just an example)? If so you just need to use path substitution in your Emby server > Library Just follow this post to properly create your media folder share: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/18957-questions-about-kodi-addon/?p=184882 Then under your Emby dashboard > Library > Path substitution From: D:\Movies To: \\servername\Movies - Note that servername can be anything you want (avoid special characters) After this, you should be able to directly play your items (meaning you are playing via SMB). This is only for local playback. If you are not home, then play from HTTP is what you need to use Edited April 25, 2015 by Angelblue05

Angelblue05 4130
If you can provide the log from when you try to play the 720p or higher, it might give us some indication as to why you are having problems. See my signature if you need help with the log. Thanks Edited April 26, 2015 by Angelblue05
