Songs not being queued in Now Playing

When I hit play on a playlist, album, song, etc the app switches to the Now Playing screen but nothing is queued for playing and just displays the blank cd case image.  I can view albums, playlists, songs, etc just can't play them.   Movies and tv episodes play fine.  I've forwarded port 8096 only since I'm on Win 8.1.  Also tried disabling antivirus, but I'm not sure it is a connection problem because log file looks good as far as I can tell.
