Hello, I am receiving this error on MBT 3.0.5571.41151. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Hello,

I am also receiving this error.

Details below:

server version:  3.0.5582.4

Theatre Version: 3.0.5586.34598

Recently installed theatre for testing, have not been able to get it to work as error detail below.

i have left all EMBY Theatre settings at the default

EMBY Classic/android and Ipad all working correctly to EMBY server

EMBY Theatre correctly starts and logs onto EMBY Theatre.

All video titles browsable in EMBY theatre.

I receive the error when trying to play any video or live TV source in EMBY Theatre, screen shot below

The only time it does work was when i requested it to play Shrek (i believe this may be because of the format of Shrek, i have shrek ripped as a DVD on my server, VIDEO_TS, nearly all my other videos are avi, mp4, mkv etc.

I checked the logs on the server and i do not see any logs for the failed times but i do see a log for the shrek transcoding that worked.

happy to provide any logs you need, i could not see how to get logs from theatre but can provide if you can let me know where to get them.

I know MBT is still a work in progress but am excited to get it working just for testing purposes on my own network.

I get this as well

Happens on both my Kodi and my fresh installation of Theatre

I run the Ubuntu Server and Kodi and Theatre are both on Windows 7 64bit

Attached is my theatre log file

it is chock full of errors

this has only been happening for 2-3 weeks. at first i though it was the kodi install but the theatre does the same thing now.

the web browser takes ages to load, (if it does at all)

most of the time i have to restart ubuntu to stop it from bitching out

the server log has ALOT of mono errors, what version of mono is recommended? within 2 minutes over 1100 lines of errors are generated.

something is screwed.

i dont want to go back to using the windows server if i dont have to, i love ubuntus stability and run several VMs for things like game servers, weather monitoring, zwave automation.

I get this COM interop error in the logs :(

Looks like I'm missing some component or need to register some COM component. Help?

I just purchased a new PC and it has Windows 8.1

Installed EMBY Theater and it finds the server but when it opens the screen looks like this

and if I click on anything and select play I get the following error

Not sure where I can find the log file in Windows 8.1.  Let me know and I will post it.
as a side note everything was working fine on the old PC that was running Windows 7 and the Roku's in the house are working fine also.

Hope that helps
Whit

Sorry wasn't able to post the version above

Plus when trying to uninstall Theater i get an error and it doesn't remove anything so I am not able to do a fresh install to see if that will fix the issue.

Ok and I just noticed there is a Windows 8.1 App so I downloaded the trial but all my files are showing as offline.

I am able to go through windows explorer and get to my server and play the files that way so I know the server is working fine and the Windows 8.1 machine can play the files just fine.

This is through the web browser on the machine, the app shows everything offline also...

But I am able to play all the files from Windows Explorer from the mapped drive.

they must not have been available at the time of the last scan. try running a scan again.

The rescan worked and now everything is working fine everywhere, even in the app.

Is there a reason this would happen?  did the rescann get stuck or something from a previous time?

I just installed Emby Theater on a fresh Win7 install and get the same problem.

I tried the suggestion a few posts up regarding lav splitter and madvr, but still no change.  Does this with DVD and bluray.

Isn't VLC player an internal part of Emby Theater now?

Is this a known issue?  Any suggestions?  Could it be something which needs to be optioned in the settings which isn't a default setting?

If you see this error it means that the filters aren't getting downloaded correctly to the ProgramData\COMObjects folder. I took a look at it earlier this morning and there was a race condition in how the filters are updated (more apparent on slow connections), and a problem with changing filter tracks after playback had occured, which could have caused this to occur. Hopefully it has been corrected; I will submit a pull in a bit after I've had a chance to test it more.

In the meantime, please delete the COMObjects folder and start MBT. Don't play anything until that folder has been created and folders/files stop appearing in it. After which, please try to play a file and let me know if the issue continues to reproduce.

Hmmm,

I DO NOT have a folder in ProgramData called "COMObjects".  (and YES, I have folder options set up to show hidden files/folders).

Does this mean anything?

It should be created when you run MBT. Can you check the logs to see if any errors are popping up?

While searching for the logs, i discovered the COMObjects folder.

It is located in Users:UserNAME:Appdata:Roaming:Emby-Theater

Is that where it should be?  Should I delete that folder?

PM Sent  :)

Just realized that in that log, I did not replicate the problem.

Should I replicate it and resend?  Sorry

The error message issue has been resolved thanks to babgvant !  TY.

I have been testing the machine on my workbench.  I did not have an audio source connected.  babgvant discovered "Error attempting to discover default audio device Element not found." in the logs.  I moved the machine to the living room and connected via HDMI and now the videos play with NO ERROR message!

Great find.

I do still see the image tearing which is what I experienced back when it was MBT (vs ET).  I was under the assumption back then that the image tear was a known bug/issue.  I figured it would have been addressed by now, yes?  Does anyone else still experience the image tearing?

I have not checked any of the video card settings yet since I have not been able to get the machine to play a video until just today......

The DS player in MBT, er... ET..., is hosted in a WPF application which places additional load on the GPU. I would expect that your's should be fine though (based on what I saw in the log), so it's strange that you would see issues with rendering. There are a few things you can try:

- toggle through the hardware accelerated decording

- disable EVR+

- use madVR (and play with the settings in madVR; I can help with what I use if you need)

And of course make sure that the drivers are up-to-date and VPP settings in the AMD control panel are turned off (they are horrible even if they don't cause this kind of problem).
