New server update breaks Trailers/Cinema Mode for Media Browser for Kodi add-on

I've been using the Media Browser for Kodi Beta add-on and Trailers/Cinema Mode for the last few weeks with no issues.  I have Emby configured to show 2 trailers, then one of my custom intros before the movie begins.  I'm using the MB modded Confluence skin from the Beta repo.  I'm a lifetime Emby supporter and am registered for both the Trailers plug-in and Cinema Mode.

I received the automatic update to 3.0.5569.0 and when I went to play a movie, the Trailers didn't play.  Instead there was a long pause, one of my custom intros played, then the movie started.  I then tried to play the Trailers directly using the Channels choice from the main menu.  When I clicked on a trailer, there was a long pause then a Kodi error message appeared saying the file couldn't be played and to check the log.  I took a look in the Kodi.log file and I see a message that appears to indicate that the Emby Server can't play the file for some reason.

I then rolled back the server to 3.0.5518.7 using the System.old method (I know that's not supported, but it was just for testing) and the Trailers played fine again in both Cinema Mode, and directly from the Channels menu.  Obviously something in 3.0.5569.0 has broken the Trailers plug-in and Cinema Mode.

I then tried the new Emby for Kodi add-on hoping that would fix the problem, but it doesn't seem it supports Cinema Mode or the Trailers plug-in at all.  Neither any Trailers nor my custom intro plays before the movie.  Not surprising though since it's so new.

Does anyone have any idea why the server update has broken the Trailers plug-in and Cinema Mode?  I'd really like to be able to use the new server version.  I can post logs if anyone want to see them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Dave

Sorry it took so long to post this.  I had deleted the log files and it took me some time to recreate the issue.  I did update the server to the latest build, 3.0.5572.0, before trying this again.  Cinema Mode still doesn't play any trailers and going to the Trailers Channel directly doesn't play anything that is selected.

Kodi-1.log is from when I tried to play a file using Cinema Mode.  Kodi-2.log is trying to play a trailer directly from the Trailers Channel.  Also included is the Emby Server log.

Thanks for taking a look.

Has anyone had a chance to look at this?  I know most people are focused on the new Emby for Kodi plug-in so it's probably not a high priority.  Any chance the new plug-in will support Cinema Mode and Trailers anytime soon?  That would be my first choice, but until it does, I'm going to stick with the old Media Browser plug-in.

Thanks,

Dave

i would try it on the latest server release first. there aren't any other apps reporting issues with cinema mode so I would get everything on to the latest and then give it another shot.

Updated to the new server, 3.0.5582.4, and the Media Browser Beta repo updated itself automatically when I started Kodi.  I uninstalled the Media Browser for Kodi add-on and skin and reinstalled everything from scratch.  Seems to be working now.  Trailers play from both Cinema Mode and from the Trailers Channel.  Whatever was broken in the server old server, or the act of uninstalling/reinstalling seems to have fixed it.  Is support for Cinema Mode/Trailers coming to Emby for Kodi?  Would really like to start using it.

Thanks to everyone who looked at this.

The new Emby addon uses the native Kodi library for all playback related stuff..

You can use the "Cinema Experience" addon in Kodi to achieve the same result in Kodi with the new Emby addon.
