Folder.jpg not replacing automatic thumbnails

I use MBC. So I'm seeing all this "Emby" stuff and am a bit confused. I guess Mediabrowser turned into Emby and I didn't get the memo? or am I in the right forum?....

Anyways, so I copied some new movies to my server. It generated thumbnails for them. Then, when I used metabrowser to fetch some proper covers, the covers didn't take. Even though there's  a folder.jpg file in the directory, it still displays this thumbnail that I can't find where it's stored! I've refreshed it a million times, still doesn't read the folder.jpg as the cover. Is there a way to change this? Not sure what happened.

I do want thumbnails created for the unset content/home videos folders, but never for my Movies folders. Help! Thanks! :)

Introducing Emby

Do the images show up properly in the web client?  What about in the metadata editor?

THanks for the info on Emby, pretty cool. The thumbs show up in the web client too, no folder.jpg covers there. In metabrowser they are all there, I downloaded them. I think this has something to do with the screen grabber. I don't want it to grab screens for movies, just my "home videos" and other folders.

You can turn off the screen grabber for movies if you wish.

I meant the Emby Metadata manager, not MetaBrowser.

My guess is that the thumbnails are getting generated with a name that takes precedence over folder.jpg (what MetaB would create) and they are both there.

Oh ok, no I checked Metadata manager, I don't know where to look though? So I deleted the entire folders and re-copied the movies and re-added the metadata with Metabrowser, and, IT still picks up those thumbnails! Where are these thumbnails created?

Screen grabber option can be found in Metadata-Services-then select the media type you want to customize.

Can you provide a screenshot of one of the folders you are having an issue with images?

Ok, I unchecked the Screen Grabber for Movies. Now I guess I should remove the files and recopy them? I think that thumbnail is somewhere else. Here's a screen shot of one of the folders that doesn't take the folder.jpg and has the screenshot thumb:

4/3/15 > So I removed these folders again, removed the .xml files and re-copied them and for some reason those same thumbnails show up. Can anyone tell me where these thumbnails are stored so I can delete them? I liked it before when the thumbails just were stored in the same folder as the movies/videos.

Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of these thumbnail/screenshots that are showing instead of my covers? Thanks! :)

This will be resolved in the next release.

Cool! Ok I can wait. It's just those few that are doing it. I've turned off the automatic thumbnail generation for movies but have left it for TV episodes so it's not doing it any more. But it would be nice when the next release looks at the folder.jpgs as a priority source. Thanks!
