DLNA Devices not acting as shared devices

Good Morning,

I have been trying to make use of the DLNA features of media browser however I have noted that some things done appear to act as expected.

In my network I have 2 WDTV live (3rd) boxes and an Onkyo Receiver. With "Play To" and "DLNA Server" enabled the renderers show up in the devices list as expected however under my user (in any client) I am unable to see these devices in the panel where you select which device you want to play to when only the option "Allow Remote Control of Shared Devices" is enabled however if I enable "Allow remote control of other users" than the devices do appear (in fact the "Allow Remote Control of Shared Devices" doesn't even have to be enabled).

Considering I have always had "control other users" on to enable the control of DLNA devices I haven't experienced the  "Dlna devices are considered shared until a user begins controlling it." feature taking it off the list if someone is controlling it however it would be neat if there was an option to have shared devices always act as shared devices (eg multiple people could manipulate a DLNA shared device's playlist and pause/play etc)

Thanks, please let me know if you need anything from me.

I have inspected this a little farther and the follow are the conditions and their effects:

Remote Control Other Users: On
Remote Control of Shared Devices: On
=
Can see other users browsers and devices and control them
Can control DLNA devices within the network
Remote Control Other Users: On
Remote Control of Shared Devices: Off
=
Can NOT see other users browsers and devices and control them
Can control DLNA devices within the network
Remote Control Other Users: Off
Remote Control of Shared Devices: On
=
Can NOT see other users browsers and devices and control them
Can NOT control DLNA devices within the network
Remote Control Other Users: Off
Remote Control of Shared Devices: Off
=
Can NOT see other users browsers and devices and control them
Can NOT control DLNA devices within the network

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

This was not at all the behavior I was expecting.  I guess an xbox one dlna is considered a different users device.

Any chance we could get a comment on this one? It doesn't seem to be operating as expected please see screenshots below.

Ideally the following options would be available as a drop down under the users to replace what is currently available.

Control Only Own Clients [Control only clients connected as the same user account as you]

Control Own Clients and Unused DLNA/Shared Clients [Control clients connected as the same user account as you and DLNA/Shared clients that no one else is controlling]

Control Own Clients and All DLNA/Shared Clients [Control clients connected as the same user account as you and all DLNA/Shared clients even if another user is controlling it]

Control All Clients [Control all connected clients to the server]

Option 3 is my ideal setting since I don't want to see all the random web clients and user specific clients floating that are connected. Ideally this would include some improvements to the devices and/or users page that allows certain devices that are connected (Emby Theater as an example) to be specified as a shared client, or a user that all clients connected as that user are considered shared clients by default (eg if someone makes a "local/home" user account that other user accounts can control or that guests can use when they stop in (Connecting using the easy pin function with no password).

Below you will see that when only shared devices control is enabled that none of the devices are selectable (none of them are playing content). [The expectation is that all DLNA devices that are free would be selectable then when one is selected and has content played to it only the user playing the content would be able to select that player and control it {unless someone has control other users enabled}]

Below you will see that all the players are controllable/selectable (both when playing content and when not) [The expected behaviour is that a user should be able to control and manage all devices connected to the server {this works properly}]

Below is an example of how when only remote control of other users is enabled it allows you to select the devices however players that are playing content drop off (and you cant select them again until the content stops playing if you unselect). [You might note that two DLNA devices dropped off however this is due to both devices starting to play content at the same time]. [The expected behaviour here is that the user should be able to control only devices that are being controlled by other users (and their own devices)]
