Web Client Matching Library Icons

Pais

Recommended Posts

I created some new library icons this weekend that are meant to follow a similar color scheme as the web client with backdrops turned off. I think they turned out rather nicely and thought maybe someone else would find these useful. I have plans for doing movie genre images in a similar style followed by music genres.

Really like these, they look great in the web interface! Any chance of some more or sharing the PSD etc? I'd like -

Photos

Trailers

Books

Channels

to complete the set.

I uploaded the Gimp files that I've been using to create them. I'm really just playing around so this is probably not a real template. Basically here is my process:

  1. Create 8 200x500 images
  2. Assemble them into the panels file
  3. Use the panels file to copy into the main template
  4. Duplicate the layer
  5. Vertically flip and move the layer
  6. Apply mask to the duplicated/flipped/moved layer

I'm happy to create some more if anyone wants to prep the 8 200x500 images.

You should be able to get sport via the link in the genre thread. I don't have the others in my library, as such:

For genres I will create a post poster image in addition to the landscape image.

Yes, thank you. I thought you were the creator of the image pack.

I had a typo before and upon rereading my post I don't think I expressed clearly my thoughts.

There are posters for all the genre images which are available via the other thread. Any new genre images that are created will have poster/landscape versions.

If you want additional genre/library images I will create them for you given that you provide the 8 200x500 images.

Hi, now I understand and thank you very much for that.
I will host the 8 images of each gender, the indicated sizes, and leave the link here soon.

Thank U.

I made a new one for trailers. Unlike most of the others, this one will likely change once or twice a year as roughly half of the featured movies are released. You can get the full sized one from the link in the first post.

This image was built by MBS, thanks to help from @t.andre  :)

and yes a real image would have 8 different slices. this is just for testing.

The server will be able to build these?  That would be freaking sweet!

Are you saying that in the future, we may have dynamically generated images for library icons?

To paraphrase a loved kids movie, it's so awesome I'm gonna die!

is there someone who might like to take a stab at designing the 8 slice images for live tv? i want to just make those static. need to avoid copyrighted material though, so, ideally some generic sports images, news cast images, etc.

I took a first try. Couldn't find anything that I liked for news cast so I ended up with the following:

You can grab the images HERE.

It is active in the current beta. You have to manually edit a system xml file to turn it on. Interesting idea and I will probably use it to build some images but not leave it on as it breaks my custom display.

Could you please elaborate on which file you are referring to and what to change?  Thank you.
