Mfusick 38
If you have a double disc movie- and you rip both. Label them perectly with Part1 and Part 2 after the names. How do you get MB to play part 2 ? The option in the player only shows for part 1 ??? WHat is the proper set up option?

gthrift 57
Multi-part movies are no longer supported. I used MKVtoolnix to combine mine.

Luke 36997
Multi-part movies are no longer supported. I used MKVtoolnix to combine mine. They are semi-supported.
Luke 36997
That is a BIG MKV!! No other option huh ?? that sucks. This works in 2.6 right ? Don't go there. It's a lot different with multi-platform requirements. The comparison is apples to oranges. Joining them is the best answer.
Mfusick 38
joining them ? What you mean taking both MKV's and turning them into one ?
Luke 36997
mkvmerge will do it for you. all drag and drop.

Mfusick 38
audio sync not an issue ???
ewcrider 2
I've had audio sync and other issues appending files, specifically with lotr straight off the blurays. I had reencode both parts separately, then join the new files. But, if mkvmerge doesn't give an error or warning, it should be good.
Abobader 2941
audio sync not an issue ??? Some times it can be an issue, but dealing with it is easy matters.

TonkaTuff 6
They are semi-supported. Does the available support exclude automatic playback of files subsequent to the first file in classic for all file types? I've got quite a lot of multi-part films in my collection, mostly avi; I'll need to start joining if this is the case. Also, can anyone recommend a 'drag and drop' tool like MKVToolnix but for avi files? The easiest way I know of is using virtualdubmod but that's quite tedious. Thanks [EDIT]: Just tried out "Avi joiner" http://lifehacker.com/5467180/avi-joiner-combines-split-video-files-into-one pretty simple to use but takes a while to process the join. Thinking some more about this, films with subs are going to be an issue too, might need to find a way to join the sub files as well. johnchimpo 7
I prefer avi demux for everything except MKV files. For that MKVtoolnix/MKVmerge works wonders.
jodosohn 0
I think combining MKV files can solve your issue. Just follow this guide to merge multiple MKV files. It does announce it can join any video and audio files.
HenryWaxmansNostrils 0
Hi all. I recently ran into the same problem with LOTR ext cut and searched various places on web but somehow missed this thread. Then I went into mbc configurater to check settings for external player. I use PDVD 13. When I clicked on edit I noticed an option Player supports multi file command so I checked that saved and lo and behold emby wmc now starts part 2 as soon as part1 ends. Screen goes black for about 1 or 2 seconds at end end of part 1 and then your watching part 2. I can live with that as my friend says much quicker than changing discs lol. Also I don't like merging files it's time consuming and I haven't had a very good success rate hope this helps. I don't know if this works using wmc player but it does with PDVD 13. Hope this helps people in future regards Neil Sorry forgot to mention this applies to MKV in full bluray quality Edited April 9, 2016 by HenryWaxmansNostrils
Vidman 589
If joining video files is time consuming and having a poor success rate you are doing it wrong
HenryWaxmansNostrils 0
Your right vidman I don't claim to be an expert. But ticking a box and having a black screen for 2 seconds is a no brainier to me. I still have the option to learn how to merge files in the future but I'm too pressed for time at the moment. Plus it's a trilogy. I have downloaded mkvtoolnix and tried to change flags for subtitles but I keep doing something wrong because none of the files played after. So with the little amount of leisure time I have presently I prefer to watch a film than mess about with files. Regards Neil
