Congrats. It is much faster than using it in safari but seems to be missing the sync feature. Maybe extending VLC to the video player will prevent transcoding?

We pulled sync at the last minute to get it released. It's almost complete though. Yes we could extend VLC to the video player, but first we really have to see how stable it is. The stock Apple Player might have a limited feature set but what it supports it does very well.

Ok. Really impressed with it so far. The UI is very smooth and it looks a lot nicer than the Android app with the menu buttons at the buttom.

Also the vlc option disables the picture in picture feature. At this time. I would love to hear what others think.

I apologize for any confusion I caused. With the vlc player extended to the video player we noticed that with ipads the picture in picture feature wouldnt work. Not that the ipad version had vlc for video support.

Having a little trouble getting the app to recognize my Premiere (lifetime) subscription. I haven't been on local yet but everything has been through VPN so that should still work i would think ... Any thoughts?

Seems to work very well from the limited testing I have done. Took time but the app is now out there which should prove a huge draw for those still using plex. Well done guys,

Same here, let's see if at home it's any different...

Looks really good. Nice job. Not sure why it requires us to be on our home network to activate Premiere though but will try it when I get home. Our server knows we are Premiere, seems like it should know just by connecting to the server.

Its probably a one time activation so I guess people could exploit this by remotely logging into someones server that does has Premiere activated.

Hey guys! if I purchase a lifetime premiere will all my server users (which do not have an emby.media account) have the ability to locally play media on their devices? Or it is only for the one who purchases the premiere account?

Just wanted to mention to anyone reading the announcement that this does require iOS 8.1 to install. My wife has kept her iPad 2 on the 7 series (since 8 was a dog on iPad 2s when it first came out) and I went to install Emby on it at lunch and got that notification.

Hi, great job, been waiting for this for a long time. BTW any plans to make the app available on new Apple TV? i'm sitting on fence as Plex app is already available on Apple TV but i prefer and love EMBY more than Plex and my whole media collection is managed by EMBY today, so wondering if EMBY gonna be available anytime soon on Apple TV or not.

So previous purchase of app for iOS no longer valid and we have to purchase it again? Or are previous app owners grandfathered in? Seems a shame if we're not.

Well done guys!! I was looking forward for this, especially for the subs support for the iPhone.

In any case, an excellent and quick app which I can now enjoy fully with my lifetime premier :D
